BTC Team Member Charles Sietmann Receives ICRI Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Certification

Building Technology Consultants, Inc. (BTC) is pleased to announce that Mr. Charles Sietmann, RRO, CIT, CCCA has earned his Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Certification from the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI). The certification acknowledges that Mr. Sietmann has successfully demonstrated the knowledge and ability to properly perform and record the results of four different moisture tests on hardened concrete.

ICRI's certification program was established to standardize moisture testing so that consistent, accurate, and representative results can be used by engineers, consultants, architects, manufacturers, and contractors to make more informed decisions on when a concrete slab is ready for a floor covering.

The Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Certification program consists of an education session, a written exam, and a field testing performance exam. Both the written exam and the field testing exams are based on the following four American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standards:

  • F 710 Preparing Concrete Floors to Receive Resilient Flooring; Section 5.3 pH Testing
  • F 1869 Measuring Moisture Vapor Emission Rate of Concrete Subfloor Using Anhydrous Calcium Chloride
  • F 2170 Determining Relative Humidity in Concrete Floor Slabs Using In Situ Probes
  • F 2420 Determining Relative Humidity on the Surface of Concrete Floor Slabs Using Relative Humidity Probe Measurement and Insulated Hood

Congratulations to Mr. Sietmann on his latest achievement.
