BTC is Triple Award Winner in 2013 Competition

Building Technology Consultants, Inc. (BTC) is excited to announce that for the first time in the company’s history, it has won three RCI, Inc. Document Competition Awards in the same year. Kami Farahmandpour and Josh Summers, BTC Principals, received their awards on Sunday, March 17th during the 28th RCI International Convention and Trade Show held in Orlando, Florida.

The competition’s format allows entrants to submit their documents for consideration under either one of two categories: Construction Projects (project manuals and drawings) or Project Reports (written evaluation documents pertaining to roofing, waterproofing, or exterior walls such as surveys, forensic investigations, or analysis).

BTC submitted two entries under the Report category and one entry under the Project category and earned the following awards:

  • Anchor Bank, Madison, WI (Exterior Facade Evaluation): Report Entry, First Place
  • Township High School District 113, Highland Park High School Buildings B & C, Highland Park, IL (Exterior Facade Evaluation): Report Entry, Second Place
  • Pointe at Lincoln Park Condominiums, Chicago, IL (Exterior Repairs, Phases A and B): Large Project Entry, First Place

The above awards add to several other project awards received by BTC from RCI, SWR Institute, and ICRI. BTC is extremely proud that all of its entries won awards among several other entries from other consulting firms nationwide. The formal recognition we received through these awards is tangible evidence of our commitment and ability to deliver project documents that are of the highest quality possible.

Under RCI’s Document Competition, Report and Project winners are judged for excellence in regard to such criteria as technical merit, organization, complexity and application of innovative concepts. Specifically, submitted Report documents are judged on:

  • Readability
  • Grammar
  • Conclusions
  • Recommendations
  • Complexity
  • Technical Merit
  • Overall Professionalism

Submitted Project documents are judged on:

  • Appropriate cost-effective solution
  • Technical Merit
  • Drawing Content
  • Specification Format and Content
  • Complexity
  • Thoroughness (e.g., limited change orders and problems)
  • Overall Professionalism
