Mike Wiscons Earns Certified Construction Specifier Designation

Building Technology Consultants Inc. (BTC) is thrilled to announce that Associate Principal, Mike Wiscons, has obtained his Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) Designation from the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI)!

Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) is a national not-for-profit association consisting of more than 7,000 members committed to improving the communication of construction information through continuous development and transformation of standards and formats, education, and certification of professionals to improve project delivery processes.  The CCS certification provides a comprehensive program of study for those who are seeking to exhibit knowledge on how to investigate, identify, and communicate cost-effective, efficient solutions through specifications.

Consistent with BTC’s ongoing practice of encouraging employees to actively participate in industry organizations, contribute to such organizations, and advance their expertise through continuing education; Mr. Wiscons’ recent accomplishment is indicative of his and BTC’s commitment to providing clients with a high level of knowledge and expertise. The CSI CCS credential indicates that both Mike and BTC uphold a high standard for investigating, understanding, and communicating all aspects of effective repair specifications.

Mr. Wiscons joined BTC 8 years ago as a Senior Structural Engineer.  Over his career, Mike Wiscons has managed over 300 projects involving structural design, building facades, parking garages, and structural distress.  These projects have included steel, concrete, masonry, and timber building systems on institutional, governmental, industrial, historic, commercial, and residential buildings and parking garages.  Some representative projects include Malibu East Condominium, Michigan Avenue Lofts, 1620 South Michigan Avenue Condominiums, and various AMLI Residential Buildings.  Mr. Wiscons has also prepared multiple City of Chicago Ongoing Facade and Critical Examination reports for various high-rise buildings.
