BTC Principal Kami Farahmandpour and Associate Principal Chris Kottra to Present at Upcoming Seminars

The Building Technology Consultants (BTC) team will be presenting at two seminars in February.

BTC’s Principal, Kami Farahmandpour will present “Stupid Mistakes that Lead to Expensive Litigation – An Expert Witness’s Viewpoint” at Sealant Waterproofing & Restoration Institute’s Winter Technical Meeting in Hollywood, Florida on February 18th. Kami’s presentation will discuss many construction defect cases that stem from procedural mistakes made during the construction or design process. His presentation provides the perspective of a professional who has served as an expert in numerous construction defect cases. The presentation will focus on a few case histories of construction litigation cases that could have been avoided if decisions made during the construction phase were properly documented; and if the value engineering, change order process, or delegated design responsibilities were properly handled.

BTC’s Associate Principal, Chris Kottra will present “Building Science: How to Manage Exterior Leaks” at the Illinois Chapter of Community Association Institute (CAI) 38th Annual Condo-HOA Conference & Expo at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois on February 21st. Chris’ presentation will focus on the function and types of exterior wall assemblies, and how moisture moves through them. Steps on addressing water leakage issues will also be discussed.
